    Hi Jackie,

I work for local Govanhill community interest paper G42. We’ve used a very small version of your picture of the Govanhill glade with a story about the decision to build on it, credited to your website. If you let us know your postal address, we’ll put a copy in the post. Cheers.

I have added the dated note above about copyright in response to this comment (I have also just emailed Jo about it). I hope it’s not being heavy-handed - I’m just concerned about my photos being used (and published) without my prior permission. I am an occasional G42 reader, so I know they’re a good outfit and I don’t have a problem with them - I would have just appreciated some prior contact from them before using my stuff.

Further note - issue now resolved! The photo will appear in G42 next week, so if you’re local do buy it and support them :)

    hiya,
just to be clear, we wouldn’t have used Jackie’s excellent picture in G42 without prior permission if we’d realised it was copyrighted. But all is sorted now, we’re delighted to have Jackie’s permission, and her kind words about the paper.
    Many thanks,
    Jo

No problem Jo (actually I doubt anyone reads this page anyway ;) ). I think it was my mistake that I assumed that because the copyright notice is clear on flickr (where the photos are hosted) that would carry through here too, and I should have made it clearer here as well. Anyway, I’m glad you’re enjoying the blog - I’m enjoying doing it!

    Hi Jackie

Just to let you know, any work that’s yours is AUTOMATICALLY copyrighted, regardless of you putting a copyright sign anywhere. Jo is wrong and you’re absolutely right in expecting people to contact you before they use your images, especially in print. You go girl!
