A photo a day from Scotland’s biggest city.

National Piping Centre

Posted by Jackie on August 12, 2008

This building is the National Piping Centre (with the right hand part of the building being the wonderfully-named Pipers Tryst Hotel). There isn’t usually a marquee out the front, but this week (as heralded by the yellow sign) is the Piping Live! Festival all week in Glasgow, where the best pipers from around the world converge on the city. Details of the festival are on its website here. I’m hoping to get to a few of the (free!) events so will try to take some pictures of the action!

I must admit, I had no idea what a National Piping Centre might entail…until the end. Only in Scotland, I assume! A great building.
