Protesting snowman

Posted by Jackie on February 11, 2009

On Monday we woke up to find that it had indeed snowed. Not so much that everything ground to a halt, but still enough to last a couple of days. An enterprising group of student protesters found a novel way to make their point here. By yesterday it had melted, but attention was away from here anyway and instead on the Computer Science Building, which was occupied by students protesting about the Israeli action and occupation in Gaza.

  1. I will call the image a perfect example of news photography. And I loved your caption too.

Well, I do believe Mr. (or is it Mrs.?) Snowman has covered all the bases!

Sounds like it has already been quite the busy week at school!!!!

What a great capture. And very newsworthy and timely, too! Terrific!

What an excellent way to draw attention! It was surely more pupular that a group of protesters marching a shouting! Ciao. A.

Indeed. The mood on campus is not with the protesters at all, people are not happy about being harangued and shouted at and being stopped from working, and it seems to be very counter-productive seeing that probably most people are broadly sympathetic to the protest about the situation in Gaza. The snowman is a much better way of making their point, in my opinion.

Good to see that protesting still alive and kicking in the UK.
