Gate and coat of arms

Posted by Jackie on August 12, 2009

This is a detail from the wrought iron gates at the entrance to the Botanics. I’d not noticed before that the coat of arms even made it here too!

Glasgow must be proud of their treasured coat of arms! What a beauty of a gate that is!!!

  2. True Justice done to the details of the wrought Iron Design. Nicely shot!

  3. Gorgeous gate and great angle! Artsy!

I want to thank you for your post of a picture of “St Enoch Centre” back on January 15, 2008. My husband and I recently took a cruise around the beautiful United Kingdom. When we arrived in Greenock, we took a bus tour around Glasgow and I had taken a picture of the St Enoch Centre, but couldn’t remember what it was and couldn’t find anyone on the web talking about it. So thank you so much, because I’m trying to get all my pictures put into flash of our trip so I can post them on our web site and I like to caption the pictures correctly.

  6. I have to admit I’d never noticed that one. Blame it on the kids – they were still small when I was regularly visiting the botanics.

Love the lighting of the shot, but not too sure of the angle!

Nice photo. I like the angle, makes the ordinary extraordinary!

It’ like the Triskelion here. You keep stumbling upon it in the most unlikely places. I love wrought iron but we hardly have any here.
