Drawing room, House for an Art Lover

Posted by Jackie on September 11, 2009

The House for an Art Lover is in Bellahouston Park, and was built to the plans of Charles Rennie Mackintosh that he entered for an architecture competition in the early 1900s. It is full of details and touches that are quintessentially Mackintosh. This is from the drawing room (the purple chairs aren’t very Mackintosh though! I think they had set up the room ready for a wedding reception!).

Fine, I’m sold. Must visit the House for an Art Lover one of there days. That’s a photo (at least) worthy of being in a brochure!

Have you noticed the pink Mackintosh tour bus that’s going through the Uni every so often?

Wow, the clean lines bring to mind the “mission” and “craftsman” styling here. Very nice! The lines really draw the eye in!!!! Love it!
