Fruitmarket Ceiling

Posted by Jackie on January 20, 2010

Last week I went to a couple of Celtic Connections concerts at the Old Fruitmarket (both were brilliant, obviously!). I also got the chance to try out the new camera a bit, so the next week I’ll show various Fruitmarket photos (building and bands). This is just looking up at the ceiling. It’s such a brilliant venue! (did I say I really like it?!).

I think I may possibly have shown another picture of this from another angle in the early days of this blog. But it’s always worth another outing – this is the arched ceiling and organ pipes from the entrance hall of the Kelvingrove Museum.

March 2009 Theme Day – Glass

Posted by Jackie on March 1, 2009

We’re back to the Burrell Collection (which I featured in a number of posts the other week) for today’s theme day, which is glass. This is the ceiling of the courtyard just past the entrance to the museum, which is full of natural light thanks to this design. Mind you, I’ve never been there during a rain or hail storm, I’m guessing it could be a bit less tranquil then!

Lots of city daily photo blogs are participating in this theme day today. Click here to view thumbnails for all participants and see glass from around the world.

This might look like a grand wall or door or gate, but is in fact a ceiling. It can be found in the wonderful Burrell Collection.
