The final shot from the chapel is looking back towards the altar (which featured in the first picture).

Looking the other way from the altar this gives a bit more of an idea of the size of the chapel. The B&W is just an experiment but I quite like the effect.

Although most of the stained glass windows in the chapel are what you might expect, these modern ones caught my eye, I like them a lot. To me it looks like wheat sheaves tied in the middle, and I can see birds and dragonflies as well. (I’ve no idea if that’s what you’re meant to see – it’s probably meant to be something completely different!) What can you see here?

University chapel (1)

A couple of weeks ago, when work was doing my head in a bit, I left the office and went and sat in the university chapel – I just needed to be quiet and order my thoughts a bit and get away from the hustle and bustle of the office (particularly the mess on my desk!). While I was there, as it was very bright and airy in there I also took a handful of photos, which I’ll put up here over the next few days. I was pleased with how this one came out, I like the light. I’ll definitely come back here too – I felt calmer and more ‘grounded’ almost as soon as I walked in there.
