There’s snow in them there hills

Posted by Jackie on March 22, 2010

I was really pleased with the zoom lens to be able to capture several landmarks in one go *and* the hills in the background as well with such clarity. Landmarks you may recognise from previous photos here are (L-R) the SECC (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre, also known as the Armadillo), the Finnieston Crane, the top of the Clyde Arc (or Squinty Bridge), and the Main Building of Glasgow University.

I’ve shown an angled shot of this walkway before, but like the symmetry of this head-on view as well. It’s the walkway from the Conference Centre station to the SECC. As one of my flickr commenters noted, it’s amazing that such an ugly structure can be so photogenic.

Armadillo nose?

Posted by Jackie on April 29, 2009

This is a somewhat alternative view of the SECC (Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre), which as you know is often referred to as the Armadillo. This is close up, looking up at the edge near the entrance to the Centre.
